Le Mans Circuit Day 2006
After a 3 year absence, HWM Aston Martin will be holding it's 2006 Circuit Day at the Bugatti Circuit, Le Mans on the 10th August. So, with this in mind, we thought it prudent to give you a little more information about the event.
First thing first then, this is an exclusively Aston Martin event. No other cars will be allowed on the circuit. This is an ideal opportunity for our customers, new and long-standing, to share their passion for the marque and enjoy their cars within the safe and controlled environment of a historic race track. We will have some professional instructors from Aston Martin on hand should you want some advice from them as well.
It is important that your car be in a good mechanical order for the event, as the strains of a circuit are very different to the road. It is recommended that you have your car serviced, or at least checked, before you go. Please contact Richard Zethrin or Jon Watmore on 01932 240611 to book your car in for this, ideally in July.
Le Mans is an international circuit and thus it is compulsory to wear a crash helmet when you are on the track. We will take some with us, however, for your own comfort, we would suggest you bring your own. If you don't own one, they can be purchased relatively cheaply, and you don't need anything fancy!
You must inform your insurance company of your intention to participate in the event. It is very important that you tell them that it is a non-competitive event. Should your insurers have any questions then they can contact us here at HWM and we will be happy to help if we can.
The cost includes accomodation on the evening of Wednesday 9th August, the track day (obviously!), lunch on the 10th and the Black Tie dinner in the evening and that nights accomodation. Travel to and from the venue, additional nights in the hotel and any additional insurance costs are down to yourself. With regular ferries and Eurostar trains throughout the day, it should be easy enough to get over the channel in plenty of time for a leisurely drive down to the circuit. A map of the circuit will be sent to you when you book your place.

Wednesday 9th August - Arrive at leisure at the Mercure Hotel, Le Mans, France and check in
Thursday 10th August - After breakfast, drive to the circuit for driver briefing and morning session begins. Stop for 2 hour lunch in Circuit Museum then back on track for the afternoon session ending about 5pm. Return to hotel afterwards for Black Tie dinner hosted by HWM. Chance for us chaps to dress up, and ladies a good excuse to buy that new outfit!
Friday 11th August - Breakfast, then leave at leisure for return trip to Blighty!
