The Aston Martin Vantage AMR Pro

This is an incredibly rare animal from the Aston Martin back-catalogue. The most track focused iteration of the hugely successful VH Vantage platform.

The AMR Pro was conceived purely as a track car, although at least one has had a road conversion so far. The extreme aerodynamic package is difficult to miss with a dramatic rear wing and carbon fibre bonnet, with holes cut into it for better cooling. These features come from directly from Aston Martin’s WEC race programme, as per the Le Mans-winning GTE racer. Whist the front wings also take the same form as the GTE race car, the front splitter is that of the V12-engined GT3 car.

At the heart of the AMR Pro is a tuned version of the 4.7-litre naturally aspirated V8 which creates 507hp.This makes it the most powerful V8 naturally aspirated engine ever to wear the Aston Martin wings. It breathes through a beautiful titanium exhaust system. It is worth searching on the internet for some footage of this car being driven in anger. The sound of it going up the hill at Goodwill was breathtaking.

The dynamic set up is also pure motorsport. It has fully rose-jointed suspension and a beautiful set of fully adjustable dampers. It really combines the greatest elements of all the VH Vantage motorsport cars. The AMR Pro sits very close to the ground, it is not made for speed bumps!
